Hey Guys! Although temperatures are still sweltering here in Chicago, summer is slowly drawing to a close.. so I thought there was no better time to share with you some of the products I have tried this summer and have been loving...
Nails:
For me, summer nails are all about fun, bold, bright colours. I have been trying to find the perfect summer mani-pedi colour combo and I have to say that I've been OBSESSED with coral and baby blue together. Essie's "Come here" has been on my toes all summer, and I've loved pairing it with "Bikini so Teeny". The great thing about this combo is that both colours work on hands or feet aaand enhance that summer glow you have been working so hard on perfecting. I know this is a combo that will forever be a summer favorite of mine.
Hair:
For ages, I have been trying to find a hair mask that will smooth down my tangled, frizzy, chlorine-flooded curls. After reading Mackenzie's rave reviews about Lush products on mackenziekendall.com, I decided to see what all the fuss was about. I talked to the lovely people at Lush and they suggested that I try their "Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Eaze" hair mask. Although I was at first dubious about the smell and about trying a mask with henna in it, the Lush ladies convinced me that I should try it. I have been using this product for about two months now and I have to say I look forward every week to stepping out of the shower with lovely, smooth hair. I will definitely be repurchasing this product in the future.
Makeup:
When I finally admitted to myself that my Benefit "They're Real" mascara was in fact dried up and completely empty, I was desperate to find a more affordable but equally amazing mascara. After reading some comparisons online, I decided to give Maybelline "The Rocket" mascara a try. I definitely think this is a great dupe to the Benefit mascara and will be repurchasing again soon.
Finally, I have included this Tarte "Creaseless Concealer". My concealer ran out at the beginning of the summer, so I stopped by my local Sephora and asked their advice for what to try next. I have to admit, at first I was not a fan of this concealer. Its texture is very thick and creamy, and was not something that I was used too. As I got more accustomed to using it, I really started to enjoy it. What I love about this product is that you only need a tiny amount to cover your whole face, and that it has a dewy finish which I love. I would probably not recommend this product to someone with oily skin/someone who is looking for a more matte finish (unless paired with a matte powder) but it is perfect for anyone with dry skin like me.
So that concludes my Summer Beauty Finds, thank you for reading my blog!
